Florida Football: 3 takeaways from big Week 5 win over South Carolina
Florida football hosted South Carolina in Week 5, looking to build off a big victory over Ole Miss. The Gators are looking legit through two games.
Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators are no strangers to offense. For years, the Gators have been known for their defense, but this season, they’re assuming the role that LSU had last year with a potent offensive attack, led by Kyle Trask.
The Gators hosted South Carolina on Saturday and had no problem putting up points, winning 38-24 and improving to 2-0 on the young season.
Defense isn’t going to be the name of the game for the Gators this season, but that’s exactly how LSU was last year. Big things could be on the way for this team.
What did we learn from the Gators’ Week 5 win?
3. Kyle Pitts is silly good
No, Kyle Pitts didn’t surpass 100 yards for a second straight game, but what he did do was catch multiple touchdown passes for the second time to start the year. Through eight quarters, the talented tight end has six touchdowns which already surpassed his total from a year ago.
Whenever Kyle Trask needs a big play in the pass game, he knows he can rely on Pitts. He showed that again on Saturday with four catches for 57 yards and a couple of scores.
Is there a better tight end in college football right now? Honestly, probably not.
