2. It’s time to be concerned about Rakeem Boyd

Two games in and Rakeem Boyd looks like a confused freshman trying too hard to make his mark on the offense and it’s backfiring. He is getting wrapped up almost immediately and the holes just aren’t there and panic is beginning to set in.

The senior running back decided to come back for one final season in Fayetteville to play for a head coach who values the offensive line and it hasn’t worked out so far.

Boyd has rushed for just 59 yards on 19 carries and left the Mississippi State game early with an injury. He was carted off the field but Sam Pittman said after the game that he feels as if the injury isn’t that serious and he shouldn’t miss the remainder of the season.

If Boyd returns healthy within the next couple of weeks and continues to look like he has through the first two games of the season, then there’s a reason to be concerned.

This kid is incredibly talented and has shown that for a couple of years now. This slow start to the season wasn’t expected but it can be turned around.
