2. This is not your typical LSU defense

If you’re LSU, you want to burn this tape on the defensive side of the ball. A team that had not won a single game this year under a first-year head coach put up 586 yards of total offense against the defending national champs and this defense which has been historically stingy.

It’s clear that the loss of personnel on that side of the ball as well as coordinator Dave Aranda are hurting the Tigers. This team has talent, but execution and leadership is lacking.

Defensively, the Tigers have struggled all season long and through three games, they lost to Mississippi State after allowing over 600 yards passing and now Missouri after surrendering 400-plus to a young quarterback. This is not what you expect from LSU.

The Tigers just don’t have ‘it’ this year on defense.

Moving forward, the Tigers need to make some changes and adjustments, especially in the secondary, if they want to even be competitive moving forward. The offense can only out-score so many teams for so long.
