1. Notre Dame has an elite run game

When you think of the nation’s best run teams, Notre Dame doesn’t often pop into your head immediately. This season is much different.

Notre Dame has the No. 5 rushing offense in the country, going for 270 yards per game on the ground. That’s due to finally having a number of elite options in the backfield and a quarterback who isn’t afraid to consistently tote the rock.

Kyren Williams is the star of the show as a sophomore. He has 359 yards and four touchdowns on 42 carries this season and looks like one of the bright young stars in college football. C’Bo Flemister has been solid as well and rushed for over 100 yards against South Florida. Lastly, Chris Tyree is fresh off his first 100-yard game against Florida State.

Ian Book, too, isn’t afraid to run the ball as he has four rushing scores this season.

Louisville has a tough time slowing down the run and Notre Dame has thrived on the ground. That’s a recipe for success for the Irish.
