SEC Football Power Rankings, Week 8: Arkansas, South Carolina rising
By Shelbie Warr
Alright alright. Many of you will come for my throat having a team that is 1-3 this high, but hear me out. Their losses come to Arkansas, Alabama and Florida. Matt Corral struggled and threw six interceptions against Arkansas this week, but so far all of their losses come to teams ranked above them. Now, when they face off against Auburn, who I have at 10, things will start to figure themselves out.
I’m convinced that the Razorbacks should be 3-1 right now with a win over Auburn to add to their schedule, but that is neither here nor there. The six interception performance against Ole Miss moves them up two spots to the No. 5 team in the Power Rankings. They are off this week and then will face off against Texas A&M — a team that they have yet to beat since the Aggies joined the SEC.
Without a game against LSU to knock them out of this spot and the fact that the top didn’t move around much, Florida stays at the No. 4 spot in my Power Rankings. The defense is questionable, but the offense isn’t at all. Now, they have one more week off before getting back to business, so let’s hope that the COVID-19 issue clears up quickly.
