Notre Dame Football: 3 bold predictions vs. Pitt in Week 8
2. Kenny Pickett will out-duel Ian Book
Ian Book has been somewhat of a disappointment this season. It’s surprising that he’s been so pedestrian because he’s a senior leader with two years of starting experience already under his belt.
So what’s going on with him?
It could be the change in offensive coordinators and the staff just doesn’t seem to trust his arm as much as it does his legs. He’s passed for just 714 yards and three touchdowns through four games and those struggles will continue on Saturday as a now-healthy Kenny Pickett will out-duel Book.
If this were 2019, I would have called a prediction like this absolutely nuts, but because Book has been losing confidence in his arm by the week and Pickett has the potential to be one of the top quarterbacks in the ACC, it’s not all that wild to imagine.
Book should be one of the best quarterbacks in the country if his progression continued in 2020, but that hasn’t happened.
Fresh off an injury, Pickett is going to out-duel the Irish’s senior quarterback.
