2. We counted Malik Cunningham out too early

After a breakout season in 2019, we should have known better. Following a sluggish start to the 2020 season, many experts and even some Louisville fans were ready to count him out and turn to Evan Conley under center.

Not so fast (in my best Lee Corso voice).

Florida State’s defense isn’t going to bring home any awards this season, but Malik Cunningham still did whatever he wanted against the Seminoles, passing for 278 yards and two touchdowns on 16-of-24 completions. He was accurate all afternoon with his 66 percent completion rate and he made things happen with his arm as well as his legs.

In fact, he finished with 40 rushing yards on seven carries, totaling over 300 yards on the day and looking like the quarterback everyone expected coming into the season.

Cunningham just needs to get that confidence back and I think he did just that against the Seminoles to win his second game of the season in impressive fashion.
