Coastal Carolina football looks to remain undefeated this season when the Chanticleers face the Georgia State Panthers in Week 9.

The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers, who are nationally ranked for the first time since joining the Sun Belt, will travel to Atlanta, Ga., to face the Georgia State Panthers on Saturday afternoon.

The Chanticleers come into this game undefeated at 5-0, the same record as some of the top-ranked teams such as Clemson, Alabama and BYU. The Panthers come into this game with a 2-2 record and will be looking to get another game in the win column.

Let’s get to the three bold predictions for the Halloween game.

3. Coastal Carolina’s motivation and energy

Coastal Carolina has been a part of the FBS since 2017 when they joined the Sunbelt Conference, and in this time they have yet to post a winning season, much less rank in the Top 25, however, just as most 2020, this year is different. The Chanticleers come into this ranked No. 20 and can continue to climb the rankings if they keep winning games.

Coastal Carolina’s head coach, Jamey Chadwell, is starting his second season as the head coach, and he spent 2017 as the interim coach. His record, which is also the same as Coastal Carolina’s as an FBS team, is 13-23. Chadwell said he had a feeling this year was going to be a good year for his squad as they had been consistent in the last two seasons and had shown growth since last season.

Chadwell and the Chanticleers have a good reason to carry positive energy and motivation into this game after winning the first five games, and will not take any game for granted this season. They will bring the grit on the field they have brought all year and win or lose, no one will be able to say they didn’t play a hard game.
