Coastal Carolina football dominated the Georgia State Panthers on the road in Atlanta. Grayson McCall returned to the lineup for Coastal.

On this Halloween, Georgia State will have nightmares of Coastal Carolina running and throwing the football all over the field after being dominated 51-0 in Atlanta this afternoon. Coastal Carolina quarterback Grayson McCall returned and did not miss a beat throwing for 254 yards and four touchdowns.

The Chanticleers continued their undefeated season at 6-0 for only the fourth time in school history, and the six wins are the most since Coastal joined FBS in 2016. The 51 points scored are the second-most the Chants have scored in a conference game and the second-most in the Sun Belt this season.

The Panthers came into this game averaging a Sun Belt best 42 points per game. Coastal Carolina held Georgia State to a mere 106 total yards, just 30 of those yards passing, and forced two turnovers.

Here are three takeaways from today’s game.

3. The Black Swarm

The zero in today’s final score is just as impressive as the 51. Coastal Carolina’s “Black Swarm” defense dominated the Georgia State offense. The Chanticleer’s defense had three sacks while forcing two turnovers. The Panthers could get nothing going punting six times with six three-and-outs.

Coastal Carolina is known for its offense, but the defense has been up to the task this season as well. This season, the Chants are surrendering just 345 total yards and 21.6 points per game. Their defensive momentum continued in this game with a shutout victory against the Panthers.
