Florida Football: 3 takeaways from blowout win over Missouri in Week 9
1. Kyle Trask is back in the thick of the Heisman race
Whenever a quarterback misses time, he’s usually out of award races. Fortunately in Kyle Trask’s case, he didn’t miss any games, but his team postponed two weeks worth of matchups so his numbers at the end of the year will look similar to the other guys in the Heisman race.
Unfortunately, people forgot about him in the Heisman race.
Being out for a few weeks, guys like Mac Jones, Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields rose to the top of the race but after another solid game, his fourth of the year, Trask has inserted himself back into the conversation and should be in the top three yet again.
Trask finished with 345 yards and four touchdowns on 21-of-36 completions as well as 47 rushing yards on six carries.
The SEC is filled with quality quarterback play and even though Trask showed signs of rust against the Tigers with his accuracy, he led the team in rushing while also throwing three touchdown passes with over 300 yards.
Hey Heisman voters, don’t forget about this kid.
