Notre Dame Football: 3 takeaways from dominant win over Georgia Tech
2. Notre Dame’s defensive line is scary
Just look at Notre Dame’s defensive line and tell me they don’t strike fear into you.
Led by Daelin Hayes, this group is flat-out scary and dominated Georgia Tech’s offensive line for 60 minutes. In fact, they finished with 2.5 sacks and nine tackles for loss and a couple of forced fumbles. Jeff Sims almost coughed the ball up a couple more times on pressure plays in the pocket and those final numbers don’t do the dominance up front any justice.
Notre Dame might have the best defensive line in the ACC heading into a critical matchup with Clemson next weekend and if anyone is going to make a Clemson quarterback feel uncomfortable, it’s the Irish.
Hayes was in the backfield all game and put pressure on Sims from the opening snap to the final whistle and you can bet the young quarterback is going to have nightmares about this front.
We are starting to see the Notre Dame defense of old with a dominant line. Clark Lea has to be one happy man.
