2. Kyren Williams is the best offensive player on the team

Coming into the season, there would have been no one to say that Notre Dame’s best offensive player wasn’t either Ian Book, a tight end or Braden Lenzy — based on potential alone. Now, that has changed completely.

This isn’t a knock on Book because I do believe he’s not being allowed to let loose by the coaching staff. After going off against Pitt last week, the staff reeled him back in again. This is more so optimism based around a position group that was a major question mark heading into the year.

What position? Running back. Who’s the star? Kyren Williams.

Right now, I’d have to say Williams is the best offensive player the Irish have right now and he’s the most valuable contributor on that side of the ball. He had an “off” game against Georgia Tech and still finished with 100 total yards and 5.1 yards per touch with two touchdowns. If he doesn’t score twice, Notre Dame might not win.

On the year, he has 600 yards and seven touchdowns on 105 carries. He’s this team’s best offensive threat.
