2. Zach Wilson will crack the top 3 of the Heisman race

The Heisman Trophy race this season is interesting. Not only is there less of a sample size for some of the big names like Justin Fields and someone like Kedon Slovis from the Pac-12, but there aren’t as many games to judge the rest of the nation, either.

Most conferences constructed league-only schedules and most have less than 10 games on them. The Big 12, SEC and ACC will have at least 10 games while the Big Ten and Pac-12 will have less as well as a number of Group of Five conferences.

With this shortened season, that makes the Heisman race interesting. That could give a guy like Zach Wilson a serious chance to make a push for the award.

Wilson has some incredible numbers through seven games. He has passed for 2,152 yards and 19 touchdowns which are both ranked top five in the country. He also has a completion rate of 75 percent and just two interceptions on 193 attempts. He’s been incredible.

I’m going to say he has two 400-plus yard performances this month and crosses 3,000 yards on the season with 25 touchdown passes heading into December. Heisman, anyone?
