1. BYU is in the top six of the rankings

Is this really that bold if BYU is currently No. 9 with just three games left on the schedule? Honestly, yes. The Cougars are a Group of Five team which means that AP voters aren’t as likely to given them credit due to their easier schedule, but they will buy in by the end of the month.

BYU has just two games in November so it’ll be tough to jump three whole spots with a number of Power Five teams vying for playoff position, but a two-touchdown win over Boise State will help.

The Cougars will dominate Boise State on Nov. 6 which will make BYU 8-0 on the year and Zach Wilson will have a huge game in the process, passing for about 400 yards and four touchdowns. And then the Cougars will have a cakewalk game to end the month against North Alabama in which BYU should win by about 40-50 points.

The month of November will push BYU to 9-0 overall and with a convincing win against a Boise State team that we will see is a top Group of Five contender should be enough to warrant a spot in that top six.

Not being in a conference will hurt playoff hopes for BYU, though.
