The month of November is upon us and Florida football is looking like a true College Football Playoff threat. Let’s get bold.

Florida probably expected to be 4-0 or 5-0 heading into the month of November with wins over Texas A&M and LSU already under its belt, but a shocking loss in College Station followed by a COVID-19 outbreak which postponed the LSU game has the Gators at 3-1.

The Gators have four games approaching, including kicking off the month against one of the best teams in the conference in an annual rivalry. The World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party could have serious playoff implications this weekend and if the Gators win, they’ll be in prime position to win out and make the SEC title game.

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, though, and take a look at some bolds for November.

3. The defense allows less than 350 yards per game

Through four games, Florida is allowing over 430 yards per game. To say that’s uncharacteristic for a Gators team would be an understatement. The Gators are still 3-1, but the defense did cost them a win against Texas A&M.

After getting a break due to COVID-19 positives, Florida did come back against a rising Missouri team and play some incredible defense, holding the Tigers to under 250 yards.

Expect more of the same as the defense continues to gain confidence, especially with a favorable stretch of games coming in November. The Gators might struggle a bit with Georgia to start the month, defensively, but still holding the Bulldogs to around 400 yards.

The rest of the month will get that average down with matchups against Arkansas, Vanderbilt and Kentucky. Those three will average about 300 yards per game against the Gators.
