College Football Rankings 2020: Projected AP Top 25 for Week 11
By Zach Bigalke
At the very least, the Bearcats kept themselves atop the race to claim the Group of Five’s automatic bid in the New Year’s Six this year as they toppled Houston 38-10 at Nippert Stadium. But Cincinnati put on another College Football Playoff-worthy performance in Week 10 as they improved to 6-0, and they look likely to push up into the top five of the AP Top 25 heading into Week 11 given their own play and everything else that transpired on the first Saturday of November.
Desmond Ridder was adequately threatening with his arm, finishing 17-of-27 for 162 passing yards with a touchdown and an interception and adding 103 rushing yards and three scores on the ground. Gerrid Doaks led the ground game, amassing 184 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries. Cincinnati’s defense remained one of the best in the country, holding Houston to only 282 total yards as they remained atop the American Athletic Conference standings.
Cincinnati turns its attention to a Friday-night showdown in Week 11 against East Carolina before they return to the road to face UCF on November 21. That showdown against the Knights in Orlando is the first of three straight road games to close out the regular season, as the Bearcats travel to Temple on the Saturday after Thanksgiving and then play at Tulsa on the first Saturday of December.
