Late November pressure is on, which college football teams won’t be able to handle the heat? Here’s the latest edition of the upset alert.

What is normally the home stretch for the college football season is only the midway point for some.

That doesn’t minimize the importance of the next month of football. From here on out, every single game means something. Whether it’s continuing a run at a conference championship or building for 2021 and beyond, teams have only a few more weeks to make their 2020 legacy a reality.

Some of those teams will be remembered for their upsets. Mississippi State for upsetting LSU, and LSU for their subsequent failures. Indiana’s upset of Penn State. Florida State knocking off North Carolina.

Last week, teams on upset alert had their best week yet: an undefeated 4-0-1 week. Cal and Arizona State was canceled, but Notre Dame, Iowa, Florida and Oregon all took care of business in big ways.

On the season, teams on upset alert are now 22-13-2. Teams come a long way since a rough start.

For this week’s Group of Five upset alert, check out Dan Morrison’s great article here.

And as always, a disclaimer: A game considered an “upset alert” is just that, an alert.
