3. The Gators hold Kentucky to under 300 yards

If there is one weakness with Florida right now, it’s defense. Coming into this game, Florida is giving up an average of more than 400 total yards per game.

Florida’s offense has no problem putting up points of their own, but the defense is also letting their opponents move the ball up and down the field as well. What really is hurting Florida’s defense right now is giving up the big plays for huge chunk of yards.

Florida’s defensive coordinator Todd Grantham might be able to work on some things in Week 13 against Kentucky. The Kentucky Wildcats are led by talented quarterback Terry Wilson. But the sophomore quarterback has thrown for only 832 yards, six touchdowns and two interceptions.

This just feels like a get right game for the Gators’ defense. A game where the Florida defense shows up from start to finish, and gets off the field before giving up the huge play like in weeks past.

The Gators are going to need their defense to step it up if they have any dreams of winning an SEC championship, or better yet competing for a national title.
