1. Florida may just be a playoff lock

I have said it already but I feel like Notre Dame is the first lock to make the playoff this season and Alabama likely is the second one but Florida may have just locked up a spot.

Florida still has Tennessee and LSU left on the schedule and those should be two easy wins for the Gators. If anything, they’ll outscore the Volunteers and Tigers. The defense should be just good enough to corral those two underwhelming teams.

Barring some meltdown in the final two regular season games, all Florida has to do is appear in the SEC title game, put up a fight against Alabama and the Gators should be a lock.

I think they’re already a safe bet to make the playoff and the committee should be impressed enough to put them in the top four by the end of the season but the only thing holding them out might be Ohio State or an ACC contender.

Don’t worry about that No. 6 ranking, Florida is right where it wants to be.
