Florida football will travel to Knoxville to face one of the bottom-dwellers in the SEC this season but Tennessee has a chance to shock everyone.

Dan Mullen can almost taste it. His team is only a few games away from an SEC East title and a spot in the College Football Playoff. The Gators will need to take care of business on Saturday, however.

Tennessee will host the Gators in what looked to be a huge ranked battle before the season began, but the Volunteers have been massive disappointments at 2-5.

Florida, on the other hand, is 7-1 and ranked No. 6 in the playoff poll. If the Gators win out, they will likely have locked up a spot in the College Football Playoff.

What could take place against the Vols?

3. Dameon Pierce rushes for 100 yards

No Gator has reached 100 yards on the ground this season which is a shock because Florida has one of the best offenses in the country. But when you have a quarterback like Kyle Trask, a run game isn’t that crucial.

Sure, having a run game to take some pressure off Trask would be nice, but the Gators have a plethora of rushers who contribute, but none excel.

Pierce has been the leading rusher in nearly every game for the Gators this season but he has yet to reach 100 yards. He has 412 yards and three touchdowns on the season, averaging 5.2 yards per touch and they’re facing one of the worst run defenses in the nation.

The junior running back will break the streak of games without a 100-yard rusher for the Gators and rush 12 times for 105 yards and a touchdown.
