Pick Analysis. 6-2. Oklahoma Sooners. 11. Scouting Report. leading 20-7 vs. Baylor in 4th quarter. player. 815

Oklahoma rolled to victory at home against Baylor on Saturday evening, pushing their record to 7-2 and putting themselves in prime position to claim a spot in the Big 12 championship game. The College Football Playoff selection committee has been high on the Sooners from the outset, and they will continue to hover just outside the committee’s Top 25 when they release the next set of rankings on Tuesday evening.

Spencer Rattler had a solid if unspectacular day throwing the ball for the Sooners, a far cry from their recent slew of prolific passers. The battle against the Bears was a low-scoring defensive struggle, with Baylor’s defense shutting down the Oklahoma ground game and forcing Rattler to make plays. Oklahoma in turn was even more stout against the Bears rushing attack, forcing Charlie Brewer to make plays in vain.

Oklahoma still has a road trip to Morgantown to make up before they can call the regular season complete and turn their attention to the Big 12 championship game. The Sooners need to avoid the trap against West Virginia if they hope to keep themselves on the cusp of contention for the College Football Playoff.
