Projected 2020 College Football Playoff Top 25 rankings for Week 15
By Zach Bigalke
Miami quietly continues to linger behind Clemson and Notre Dame in terms of recognition beyond the ACC. At the same time, the College Football Playoff selection committee saw fit to put the Hurricanes in the top 10 of their Top 25 list heading into Week 14. After improving to 8-1 with a victory over Duke, Manny Diaz’s team will be right there in the discussion again as one of the top teams in the hunt for New Year’s Six bids.
D’Eriq King torched the Blue Devils with both his arm and his legs. The former Houston quarterback threw and ran for touchdowns. Cam’Ron Harris led the way in the backfield with multiple touchdowns and triple digits rushing. Miami’s defense broke out the Turnover Chain a slew of times times and stifled the Duke offense all along the way.
Miami still has two more games to play in the regular season. The Hurricanes return to the field in Week 15 for a home date with North Carolina, and remain at home on December 19 for the finale against Georgia Tech. If the Canes win out to reach selection day at 10-1, the hometown Orange Bowl could prove to be a landing spot this postseason.
