1. There’s a playoff berth on the line

As I said earlier, LSU doesn’t have much to play for in this one while the opposite is true for Florida. The Tigers don’t have a postseason to look forward to and that’s a demoralizing feeling for a team coming off a national title. Florida has a chance to be the next national champion.

The Gators are 8-1 with this final regular season game remaining before the SEC title. They know they need to win in order to stay alive in the College Football Playoff race. Florida no longer has room for error as it dropped an earlier battle with Texas A&M on the road and that means the Gators have to win this game and also the SEC title to make the final four.

This may look like a trap game, on paper, but there’s no way Dan Mullen is going to let his guys look past an incredibly talented team that just won a national title last year.

Florida is going to take care of business because, frankly, there’s a College Football Playoff berth on the line. This team is going to play hungry.
