Florida football is looking to shock the nation with a win over No. 1 Alabama in the SEC title game. Do the Gators have what it takes?

There’s a sour feeling in Gainesville these days after Florida’s massive choke against LSU in the regular season finale with a College Football Playoff berth on the line.

Marco Wilson has to be feeling most of the pain as he was one of the main culprits in the loss as a huge defensive stop turned into a big gain for LSU after he threw a show from an opposing player about 30 yards down the field in celebration. Yeah, you can’t do that. This ended up putting LSU in field goal range to take a three-point lead with under a minute left.

With the LSU loss hopefully in the rearview mirror, Florida can now focus on ruining the playoff hopes of Alabama which may be difficult because the Tide seem like a lock to make the final four no matter what happens on Saturday night.

A Florida blowout would be the only game-changer here.

Let’s get bold ahead of Saturday’s big game.

3. Florida holds Najee Harris under 100 yards

Only three times this year has Najee Harris been held under 80 yards and the last occasion came in the regular season finale against Arkansas. He was a non-factor in the win, rushing 14 times for just 46 yards but he did have two touchdowns in the process.

The week before, Najee rushed for 145 yards and three touchdowns on 21 carries as he looked like a future All-Pro running back. But he’s going to take a step back against Florida on Saturday.

In the SEC title game, Harris is going to get held to just 85 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries as the Florida defense will do its best to make sure he’s not a major factor. Mac Jones and DeVonta Smith are a scary enough duo that adding a run game led by Harris to the mix would surely do the Gators in.

The defense — which has been lackluster — will key on Najee.
