1. This will be the ultimate ‘what if?’ season for Florida

Fans, coaches and players hate having to ponder the dreaded question of ‘what if?’ for an entire offseason, but that’s exactly what Florida is facing heading into bowl season.

This felt like a special season for the Gators from the start with the way Kyle Trask was playing and also Kyle Pitts, but the defense just didn’t play up to par and the run game was non-existent for most of the year. That led to upset losses at Texas A&M and at home to LSU and a horrid showing on the defensive side of the ball against Alabama.

What if Florida had a solid defense? What if the Gators never lost to Texas A&M? What if they never lost to LSU? What if Marco Wilson never threw that shoe?

All of these ‘what ifs’ are going to drive the Gators crazy this offseason because this team is just a few plays away from being undefeated or sitting with one loss heading into the playoff.

Trask played his heart out all season and Dan Mullen’s offense was scary, but the fact that there was no defense or complementary run game was the reason the Gators had three losses.
