1. Texas A&M deserves a playoff spot

When Jimbo Fisher was asked by ESPN after the game why he believes Texas A&M deserves a spot in the College Football Playoff, he gave a fiery response. He had a short speech prepared in his mind and basically said that the committee should value a one-loss team from “the best conference in football” over a one-loss team elsewhere.

He also stated that Texas A&M’s only loss was to the No. 1 team in the country in the second game of the year when the Crimson Tide still had Jaylen Waddle.

Well, he’s not wrong.

Texas A&M has taken care of business each week since, winning seven straight games and sitting at No. 5 in the country. On top of that, Ohio State didn’t look all that impressive in a Big Ten title win over Northwestern and the Buckeyes only played six games this year as opposed to Texas A&M’s nine. This may help the committee decided on a flip of the No. 4 and No. 5 teams.

If the committee was looking for a convincing win on Saturday from Texas A&M to give them a nod, they got it. Even in a game where the Aggies weren’t electric on offense, the defense was dominant and they beat Tennessee by three touchdowns on the road.

Give this team a shot at an Alabama rematch.
