Oklahoma and Florida football will face off in one of the most anticipated Cotton Bowls in years. Will the Gators hold off the red-hot Sooners?

Before the season, Oklahoma was a favorite to make the College Football Playoff, but after a couple of losses, the Sooners were essentially out of the running. Since then, they’ve been red-hot and Spencer Rattler is playing like the quarterback everyone expected.

Florida, on the other hand, was in the playoff race until a shocking loss to LSU at home in the regular season finale followed by a six-point SEC title game shootout loss to Alabama. The Gators had a solid season but it can’t be considered a success based on that loss to the Tigers and an upset earlier in the season at Texas A&M.

Things can change with a win in the Cotton Bowl to finish the year likely ranked in the top five but Oklahoma isn’t going to just roll over.

What will take place in the Cotton Bowl on Wednesday evening?

3. Kyle Pitts catches three touchdown passes

Kyle Pitts is an unreal talent at tight end. There’s even talk that he might be the best tight end prospect in a decade and if you look at his numbers and style of play, that’s not all that surprising. This kid is a beast.

Oklahoma has yet to see a player of his caliber at tight end this season and that’ll be evident.

The top NFL draft prospect will have himself a game to end his Gator career, catching eight passes for over 100 yards and three touchdowns. He’s going to be the go-to target for Kyle Trask in the red zone yet again and he’ll improve that stock even more with just a few months until the draft.

Pitts is going to be a nightmare matchup for the Sooners and he’s going to put on a show in front of a national audience. For those who haven’t seen Pitts play yet, tune into Wednesday’s game.

Note: Kyle Pitts has since been ruled out
