2. Kyle Trask is built for a shootout

With neither Oklahoma nor Florida having stingy defenses, both quarterbacks could have themselves big games on Wednesday night. We’ll likely see a shootout.

What we’ve learned this season is that Kyle Trask is built for a shootout.

You could argue that Spencer Rattler, too, is built for a shootout based on his numbers, but he can’t quite go off for 400-plus yards and five-plus touchdowns with as much ease as Trask — we just haven’t seen him do it yet. Rattler may be able to do this in the future, but to this point in his career, he hasn’t had to do that.

Rattler has only been in one real shootout against Texas and he escaped with a win. He had two mini shootouts against Kansas State and Iowa State and lost both.

Trask, on the other hand, has been involved in a few shutouts. He’s won some and lost some, but he’s built to put up points and he has the pieces around him to score 60 points in any given contest.

There’s a reason Trask is a Heisman finalist and he’ll be the best player in this game.
