1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Offensive Coordinator Byron Leftwich

The home run hire for the Marshall Thundering Herd would be  program legend and current Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich. Leftwich was a quarterback for the Thundering Herd before starting a pretty lengthy playing career in the NFL with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Atlanta Falcons and Pittsburgh Steelers.

Leftwich got his first coaching start as a coaching intern with the Arizona Cardinals under coach Bruce Arians before earning the job as the quarterbacks coach the next season.

After being the interim offensive coordinator for the Cardinals during the 2018 season, he returned to coach under Arians as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator, his current position.

This would be a great hire for the fan base because Leftwich is the coordinator for one of the best offenses in the NFL and he is beloved at Marshall.

The question is whether Leftwich is more comfortable in the NFL and would want the pressure of returning to his alma mater and being the head coach. I consider this a bit of a longshot, but Marshall should have Leftwich at the top of the list and make their best case for him to come back to Huntington.
