Arguably the most important newcomer and early signee is Jalen Williams, a JUCO defensive tackle from Jones College.

Arkansas had a 4-5 man rotation at the defensive tackle position in 2020 and two of them (Jonathan Marshall and Xavier Kelly) are gone. With two new openings at defensive tackle, including one at one of the starting spots, a JUCO transfer might be able to be inserted into the lineup immediately, especially since Williams was the No. 3 defensive tackle at that level, according to the composite.

In fact, Williams is the third-best JUCO defensive tackle and No. 11 prospect from that level. He has a solid 6-3, 310-pound frame which will be tough to guard if you’re an opposing SEC offensive lineman.

Williams should be able to have an immediate impact on the Razorbacks’ defense and they could use improvement in just about every area, especially in the trenches.
