Scouting Report. 22. player. Pick Analysis. CB. Clemson. Derion Kendrick. 35

Like Caleb Farley who I have going about 10 picks earlier in the draft to the 49ers, Derion Kendrick began his career as a receiver and moved over to the defensive side of the ball. Also like Farley, his length, athleticism and knowledge of the receiver position helped mold him into an elite college corner.

The Titans need a lot of defensive help, starting with cornerback and the defensive line, but with Kendrick still on the board here, I think they take a chance with the Clemson star.

Clemson needed cornerback depth in 2019 and that’s when he got his start there. It wasn’t expected to stick, but it did and it turned out to be the best move for his career. He has just scratched the surface after recording 61 total tacklers, three tackles for loss, three interceptions and 11 pass deflections in the last two seasons.

Tennessee will get a raw corner who could very well mold into a star at the position. When that will be remains to be seen, but this is already a playoff team and an improved defense will be bad news for the rest of the league.
