2021 NFL Mock Draft: First-round projections after national championship
Watching Derrick Henry star with the Titans has piqued the interest of all NFL teams looking for a running back. The former Alabama star has been a menace to opposing defenses, running through, over and around them for the past few years.
Najee Harris seems to be cut from that same cloth and he’ll become just the latest in the long line of Alabama running backs to make it to the next level.
There’s a chance the Jets could go quarterback earlier in the first round, but I have them taking Penei Sewell, the best lineman in the class, which could help Harris develop into a star quicker.
New York needs just about everything, but getting Harris here would be a steal, especially after the season he just had and the potential he possesses.
Harris posted career-highs in yards with 1,466 yards and 26 touchdowns while averaging 5.8 yards per touch. He was a Heisman finalist for the national title-winning Tide.
With Le’Veon Bell gone and no one outside of Frank Gore with a pulse in the run game, this pick just makes sense.
