The optimism over Byron Cardwell to UCLA has dipped tremendously over the past few weeks and with the four-star running back set to announce his commitment on Monday, there’s a decent chance he ends up at a Pac-12 rival (Oregon is the favorite).

The Bruins were looking good with Cardwell not too long ago, but Oregon made a serious push and how can a running back say no to that offense?

The 6-foot-0, 203-pound back from California looks like he’s going to make Chip Kelly’s former program very happy in the coming hours as he intends to announce his decision, but does that keep him off limits before signing day? Like Keith Cooper, this may be a recruitment that shouldn’t end for Kelly until the pen hits the paper.

Cardwell is ranked the No. 183 prospect in the country as well as the eighth-best running back, so it’s worth keeping an eye on him until his signing with Oregon is official.
