Arizona State Football: Top 3 remaining targets in 2021 recruiting class
This has to be the top uncommitted target for Arizona State on National Signing Day, no question about it. Davon Townley is one of the best uncommitted defensive ends in the country and he has a final three of Penn State, Michigan State and Arizona State and Midwest recruiting guru Allen Trieu has the only Crystal Ball submitted for him on 247Sports to the Sun Devils.
That would be quite the recruiting victory for the Sun Devils, snatching a Midwest kid away from the likes of Michigan State and Penn State.
Trieu also raved about Townley, saying his upside is huge and if he works on his technique a little more, he could be playing on Sundays one day.
Standing 6-6 and 220 pounds, Townley could afford to add a little weight to his frame in order to adjust to the Pac-12 or Big Ten but he’s explosive off the ball and his potential is sky-high. Arizona State needs an uptick in the trenches and Townley will be just that.
Townley is ranked the No. 324 overall prospect in the class and 19th-best strong-side defensive end, according to the composite.
