Clemson Football: Way too early game predictions for 2021 season
After another disappointing exit from the college football playoff, Clemson Football enters the 2021 season with a chip on their shoulder and a very talented roster
Clemson football has been one of the best programs in the country in the last five to six seasons and head coach Dabo Swinney and the Tigers will be the heavy favorite to win their seventh consecutive ACC championship.
However, it feels like the Tigers have some things that they need to fix as a program if they want to win the college football playoff in their return.
Ohio State came ready to play in the semifinal this past season and really exposed some of the holes that the Tigers had. The offensive line was not able to protect the quarterback all night and struggled at times during the season to open up running lanes for Travis Etienne.
The receiving corps lacked a game-changer on the outside, but that should change with Justyn Ross coming back from an injury and if he is playing at his former level, that should be an issue that gets fixed. The secondary could also be had if the opposing offense had dynamic enough weapons.
With those questions there, the Tigers still have the best team and roster in the ACC by a mile, which should give Clemson football time to find solutions in time to play the elite teams in the country.
We will see how Clemson is looking right out of the gate when they face a high powered Georgia team in Charlotte. Georgia is similar in talent to Ohio State and will give Clemson challenges, so this will be a good test to see how their secondary and offensive line have improved.
Clemson has a very talented quarterback in D.J Uiagalelei to build around and the experience he gained from the two games he started last year should pay off. The biggest question the Tigers may face is replacing Travis Etienne. There are several contenders to fill that spot and all have talent. Expect another ACC championship and playoff appearance for Clemson Football in 2021.
