Florida Football: 3 signees who’ll have instant impacts in 2021
Florida football signed the No. 13 class in the country for 2021 which is filled with guys who could have an immediate impact on the upcoming season.
Although Dan Mullen didn’t sign a top 10 class like he was hoping to do, he can’t be too upset with the No. 13 group in the country which is also fifth-best in the SEC. There’s not too much of a difference between No. 13 and a top 10 class so this isn’t the Gators falling behind in terms of talent.
The Gators did make the SEC title game last season but lost a couple of games they probably shouldn’t have at Texas A&M and at home against LSU which prevented them from making a playoff.
If Florida wants to get back to playoff contention, it’s going to need some help from some newcomers.
Which 2021 signees will have the biggest immediate impacts for the Gators?
When I posted my early signees who could have an immediate impact for Florida article back in December, I had Marcus Burke in this position as the receiver who could see the field plenty as a true freshman. My tune is changing because I believe that early enrollees will always have a leg up on non-early enrollees, no matter the ranking of each player.
Daejon Reynolds is the early enrolled receiver and while he wasn’t as highly-ranked in the composite as Burke, he’s every bit as talented and he’s going to have the playbook down by the spring.
Florida’s losing Kadarius Toney and Trevon Grimes which leaves some openings on the two-deep for a couple of younger receivers and Reynolds should take advantage.
The 6-foot-2, 210-pound receiver has a terrific frame and he makes the toughest catches look routine.
Reynolds is listed as the No. 286 overall prospect and 44th-best receiver, according to the composite rankings on 247Sports.
