Gainesville (FL). 3. 829. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. player. Sept 18. Alabama Crimson Tide

Week three will be the SEC opener for the Gators and it will be a rematch of last season’s SEC championship vs Alabama. Florida was one of the only teams that was able to play Alabama tough last season and will be hoping to be able to finish the job and get the biggest win in Mullens time at Florida.

Alabama will be another team like Florida that is losing a lot of production and will be breaking in a lot of new starters in this early part of the season. The defending national champs will be looking brand new on offense with five-star quarterback Bryce Young and a lot of other five-star talent around him.

Despite the game being in Gainesville, I just don’t think that Florida has enough returning talent to be able to match Alabama’s sheer talent and coaching. The Gators are recruiting well, but not good enough to where I can assume that their new starters will be able to replace guys like Pitts and Toney. Mullen’s offense will keep it close for a little bit, but Alabama has too much firepower.

Final Score: Florida 24, Alabama 34 (2-1, 0-1 SEC)

Sept 25. Gainesville (FL). Scouting Report. Tennessee Volunteers. 4. player. 839. Pick Analysis

A week after playing the best team in the SEC, Florida will stay at home and face off against the worst team in the SEC. Tennessee will be undergoing a massive transformation and will not be ready to play up to the level of Florida. The Volunteers will be replacing a lot of starters that are transferring out and a lot of the 2021 recruiting class will not be signing in Knoxville. First-year Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel could be the right guy for the job, but it will be hard to tell in 2021.

This used to be one of the more competitive rivalries in the SEC, but it has not been that in quite some time. Don’t expect that to change this season. Gators bounce back with a big win over their rival.

Final Score: Florida 38, Tennessee 14 (3-1, 1-1 SEC)
