Quite easily the top target for BYU in the 2022 class has to be Carsen Ryan who is an in-state prospect from American Fork, Utah, who would probably start right away for the Cougars.

Ryan is a four-star who is ranked the No. 264 prospect in the class as well as the 11th-best tight end, according to the composite. He’s also been listed as Utah’s second-best prospect and 247Sports lists him as the ninth-best tight end in the class.

BYU is searching high and low for that next tight end and there are a handful of prospects in the 2022 class who could fill this role, but it seems as if Kalani Sitake has been pushing the hardest for Ryan. It’s not going to be easy with a program like UCLA also in the mix and the biggest competition for Ryan.

Washington is also in the race for Ryan and keeping him from the Pac-12 won’t be the easiest move for Sitake.

This would be a monster addition for BYU.
