Kyle Trask might not be a first-round prospect in the 2021 NFL Draft, but the Florida football star could be headed to a good spot in round two.

What a rise to stardom Kyle Trask has had. After being an under-recruited prospect from Manvel, Texas, who spent his high school days as a backup behind D’Eriq King, Trask committed to Florida based solely on potential with size and a strong arm.

Dan Mullen took advantage of having Trask on the roster in 2019 when Feleipe Franks went down with an injury. Trask was given an opportunity and he never looked back.

Trask took over and passed for 2,941 yards and 25 touchdowns with a 67 percent completion rate in 12 games. He carried that success over into 2020 with 4,283 yards and 43 touchdowns with a 69 percent completion rate. He was a Heisman finalist who finished in the top-five in the final voting and played himself into an early Day 2 NFL draft pick.

Which teams would be the absolute best fits for Trask in the 2021 NFL Draft?

3. Denver Broncos (No. 40)

The Broncos are looking for a quarterback to lead the franchise and have been ever since Peyton Manning left following a Super Bowl win. Denver hasn’t quite been the same since.

In fact, the Broncos have been shuffling through quarterbacks ever since and have had guys like Brock Osweiler, Joe Flacco and most recently Drew Lock. There was some hope that Lock could be the quarterback of the future, but he was a turnover machine last season with 15 interceptions to just 16 touchdowns.

Kyle Trask could come in and at least push lock for that starting job or at least learn for a year and then take over in 2022.

John Elway knows good quarterbacks and he should know that he’s not going to get one in the middle of the first round unless he reaches for Mac Jones, but he’d be wise to wait until No. 40 to get a strong, accurate passer like Trask.

With the budding stars on offense like Jerry Jeudy, Noah Fant, DaeSean Hamilton and KJ Hamler along with a Melvin Gordon and/or Phillip Lindsay, the Broncos could set a young quarterback up very well.
