Spring is here and Florida football is back. Before we get too deep into it, how do we believe the Gators’ 2021 season will play out?

Florida was this close to making a College Football Playoff appearance last season. The ACC sent two teams to the national semifinal but that could have easily been the SEC had the Gators finished the season strong instead of choking against LSU at home.

Dan Mullen’s Gators were rolling before the season finale and a certain shoe toss costed them a potential playoff berth. They were then beaten by Alabama in the SEC title game, but they put up a fight.

Now Florida must trek forward without the likes of Kyle Trask, Kyle Pitts and Kadarius Toney and that’s a scary proposition. This team needs to find new leaders and a starting quarterback.

Emory Jones is the most logical option, but don’t sleep on Anthony Richardson just yet. Both have plenty of talent as dual-threats and could provide a little extra to the Gators offense on the ground that Trask simply could not. Matching the arm talent of Trask will be different, however.

The offense is losing quite a bit, but will it be too much to overcome?

Florida brings back Todd Grantham after a disappointing season as defensive coordinator. He will have to replace a lot on the defensive side of the ball, but the talent is there.

How will the Gators fare in 2021?
