No. 1 Cleveland Browns

It is clear that the Cleveland Browns had one of the top drafts, if not the best draft, of 32 teams in the league. The Browns were a team that was close to defeating the Kansas City Chiefs and play for the AFC Conference Championship. Now the Browns are in a better position to contend for a potential Super Bowl appearance.

The Browns were able to address four of the five position needs it had in the 2021 NFL draft. The sole position need not addressed, defensive end, was addressed before the draft as they acquired Jadeveon Clowney on a one-year deal.

The Browns used their first-round pick to fix their secondary as they acquired Northwestern cornerback Greg Newsome II with the 26th overall pick. This move makes Newsome an instant starter in a secondary that has talent but has been injured. Last season, the Browns’ defense ranked 24th in the league in passing yards allowed per game (221.2).

The Browns continued to upgrade their defense by making the biggest steal in the draft with the 52nd overall pick for Notre Dame linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah. This is a player that should have been selected in the first round but the Browns capitalized on other team’s mistakes. He will be an instant starter in the second level of the defense.

The Browns used their next two picks on the offensive side of the ball with players that with highly versatile abilities in Auburn wide receiver Anthony Schwartz and Cincinnati offensive tackle James Hudson.

These are players that will be able to contribute almost immediately for Cleveland. The next three picks continued to be on the defensive side of the ball in undervalued players such as Ohio State defensive tackle Tommy Togiai, West Virginia linebacker Tony Field II, and Georgia safety Richard LeCounte.

Their last pick of the Draft is a player who might be the most versatile draftee for the Browns in UCLA running back/wide receiver, Demetric Felton.
