Florida football has 7th-best odds to win 2021 national championship
Buckle up, Gator fans, Florida football is already driving the hype train.
After a season in which Kyle Trask almost led the Gators to the College Football Playoff, the hype is still there for another potential run at the national title in 2021.
Despite losing Trask and Kadarius Toney, Vegas believes that the Gators are going to be just as good, if not better in 2021.
In fact, the latest odds were released regarding 2021 national title favorites and Alabama obviously leads the way along with Clemson and Ohio State, but not far behind the top group is Florida with the seventh-best odds in the country.
Florida is tied with Notre Dame with the seventh-best odds in college football, trailing only Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Georgia, and Texas A&M.
How do the Gators stack up?
Florida football has the talent to make a run
Florida might be losing its starting quarterback and star receiver, but Emory Jones and Anthony Richardson will soften that blow. Plus, the receiving corps will reload and Dan Mullen is bringing in one of the best recruiting classes in the country.
Defensively, as long as Todd Grantham can avoid a slump as he experienced in the middle of the 2020 season, the Gators should have the talent to be a top-20 group.
Having the fourth-best national title odds in the SEC doesn’t seem all that impressive, but when the three ahead of the Gators are all in the top-six in the country, it’s actually quite the feat.
Mullen is building the Florida football program back up to where it once was, and hopefully then some.
