Ayodele Adeoye was a product one of the best prep programs in the nation as he committed to Texas out of IMG Academy in the 2018 class.

When Tom Herman moved on this offseason and was replaced with Steve Sarkisian, Adeoye also moved on. He entered the transfer portal this offseason after playing in three games and recording 10 total tackles in 2020. He should have plenty of suitors, but the Saint Louis, Mo., native was a top target of Texas back in 2018.

Texas and Oklahoma ended up being his finalists, but since the Sooners are probably the most hated rivalry the Longhorns have and the Texas A&M rivalry has fizzled away (with no games) over the years, he’s more likely to end up in College Station than Norman.

The Aggies could use an improvement in the linebacking corps and Adeoye would be just that as a former top-150 recruit who had a breakout freshman season in 2019 with 45 tackles, 2.5 sacks, an interception, and two pass breakups.

Adeoye would be a fantastic addition for Texas A&M’s talented defense.
