Notre Dame football and Penn State are each trending with key 2022 targets just days before they are set to announce their commitments.

It’s been an impressive recruiting cycle for Notre Dame football and the Fighting Irish are far from done.

With 16 commitments total in 2022 and 11 of them ranked as four-star prospects, Notre Dame football is ranked No. 2 overall right now and should be adding another commitment soon — by the end of the week.

That’s expected to come from three-star cornerback Jayden Bellamy who is out of Bergen Catholic in Oradell, New Jersey. Despite Penn State also being in the mix, as well as Clemson, Ohio State, and Oklahoma, Notre Dame is poised to win his recruitment.

Bellamy will be making his decision on Friday and the 5-foot-11, 175-pound corner has been trending with crystal ball projections to Notre Dame, which now has seven total in its favor.

Bellamy also visited Penn State football, as well as Rutgers, but following his visit to South Bend on June 18, he started trending with predictions a few days later and it hasn’t stopped with insiders from Penn State, Ohio State, and Michigan sites all projecting Bellamy to ND.

This would be a solid get as Bellamy is ranked 442nd overall in 2022 and is listed as a three-star in the composite rankings but certainly doesn’t have the offers of a three-star recruit.

While Notre Dame football is on commitment watch with Bellamy, fans should keep an eye on top-100 wideout C.J. Williams, who also started trending to the Irish after his visit over the weekend.

Penn State trending with LB, DB

Penn State football is also expected to pick up a commitment this weekend, on Sunday from Keon Wylie a three-star linebacker out of Philadelphia.

Wylie took a visit to Kentucky over the weekend. Ole Miss and Pittsburgh are also in the mix, but in the past week, Penn State football has picked up four crystal ball projections including from Brian Dohn, a top Northeast recruiting expert.

The Nittany Lions also picked up a recent projection for four-star safety Christian Driver, who is also the son of former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Donald Driver.

dark. Next. Way too early top 25 projections

Driver is ranked 206th overall in the 2022 class and after picking up a pair of crystal ball picks to Penn State in May, another came in last week, making it seem likely that four-star DB out of Texas will commit to Penn State football which is also on a roll in 2022, just like the Irish.
