Gervon Dexter was one of the top recruits Dan Mullen has ever landed and he showed flashes of greatness as a freshman in 2020.

The former five-star recruit was ranked No. 12 overall in the 2020 class and was the No. 3 defensive tackle and top prospect in the state of Florida, according to the composite. Also, according to the composite rankings, the five-star defensive lineman is the No. 217 all-time recruit.

In year one, Dexter played in 10 games and recorded 20 total tackles, two tackles for loss, 0.5 tackles for loss, and an interception. All signs are pointing to him breaking out as a sophomore with a full year of experience under his belt. He has the potential, the raw talent, and the size to dominate in the SEC. In fact, he stands 6-foot-6 and 308 pounds.

Dexter could be the next big-time defensive line prospect from the SEC and it all starts with a breakout season in 2021.

Right now, he may be a projected backup but I’m going to bet he starts by the end of the season.
