Haynes King came to Texas A&M a year ago as one of the top-150 recruits in the nation and he was also listed as the No. 5 dual-threat quarterback in the 2020 class.

Kellen Mond is gone after a productive career, but Texas A&M fans are excited about the potential of King as QB1. Zach Calzada and Eli Stowers are also there to push him for that starting job, but King has the most potential in 2021, in my opinion. He raises the offense’s ceiling more than the other two quarterbacks.

I see King as the starter this season and it may be an obvious breakout candidate pick, but I think he has the talent to really surprise the SEC and make this offense one of the best in the country.

King has plenty of weapons behind him such as one of the best running backs in the country in Isaiah Spiller and talented wide out Ainias Smith along with the aforementioned potential breakout candidate in Demond Demas, so I’d be shocked if this offense wasn’t electric.

If King wins the starting job and reaches his full potential, the Aggies are going to be scary and maintain that momentum from the eight-game winning streak that closed out 2020.
