Going into Badger territory and stealing a top offensive lineman would be a heck of a move by Brian Kelly and I think he’s close to doing just that.

Billy Schrauth just screams “Wisconsin offensive lineman” but Notre Dame is trying to reel him away from Paul Chryst and the Badgers and it looks like he’s winning the battle. If you go by 247Sports crystal balls, Notre Dame is the favorite to land the four-star interior offensive lineman from Fond Du Lac, Wisc.

Notre Dame currently has three offensive tackles committed to its 2022 class and none on the interior and Schrauth would be the first. Also, he’d become the highest-ranked offensive line commit overall in the Irish’s 2022 class if he were to pick Notre Dame.

Schrauth is ranked the No. 159 overall recruit and eighth-best interior offensive lineman in the class. He’s also the state of Wisconsin’s third-best prospect.

Maybe Notre Dame and Wisconsin should just play for him on, let’s say, Sept. 25. Deal? Deal.

I could see Schrauth committing before then as he’s already taken an official to Notre Dame as well as Wisconsin and Ohio State.
