Ole Miss Football: 3 teams the Rebels will blow out in 2021
Tennessee and Ole Miss didn’t play last season, but if the Rebels and Volunteers did face off, we may have seen a blowout like the one they suffered against Kentucky, Georgia, Alabama, or Texas A&M.
Actually, Tennessee lost all seven games by double digits as the closes defeat came at Arkansas by just 11. That’s exactly what led to Jeremy Pruitt getting fired — well that and the fact that he started the season 2-0 and finished 1-7 in the final eight games.
The Volunteers had the No. 65 defense in the country and were 106th against the pass which has to be music to Matt Corral’s ears. Just like the Tulane game, the Volunteers are horrid against the pass and should have a mediocre defense which could lead to an explosive offensive game from Lane Kiffin and the Rebels.
Harrison Bailey is back as a sophomore and could win the starting quarterback job but Virginia Tech transfer Hendon Hooker should also push for QB1. This battle could go well into the season and that’d be the worst-case scenario for the Volunteers.
Ole Miss’ defense will do just enough to contain Tennessee and Ole Miss wins this big.
