I had a tough time choosing between Washington State and Oregon State here, but based on last season’s results and the fact that Arizona State didn’t face the Cougars and Nick Rolovich in 2020, I’m going with the Beavers here.

Oregon State hosted Arizona State in a COVID-19-shortened 2020 season, losing in their finale, 46-33. It wasn’t exactly a “blowout” in the literal terms, but the game wasn’t that close.

The Beavers are losing their best offensive player as Jermar Jefferson is now in the NFL and replacing him isn’t going to be an easy task. No running back other than Jefferson had over 200 yards last season and he eclipsed 850 in just seven games. That type of production doesn’t just grow on trees and the offense which ranked 56th in total yards last year will take a step back.

Defensively, Oregon State didn’t really stop anyone, ranking 95th in total yards and 93rd in scoring last season. They return seven starters to that side of the ball, but that may not be a good thing.

This one shouldn’t be all that close. Last year was 13 points, but this year should be three-plus scores.
