Florida Football: Game-by-game predictions for 2021 season
I have a hard time believing anyone in the SEC is going to take down Alabama, even if the Gators do get the Crimson Tide in Gainesville. The fact that this one will be played in The Swamp, however, gives Florida a fighting chance, especially with the Tide starting a new quarterback.
Florida will put up a decent fight here, but Bryce Young will shake off some early-game jitters to come away with his first SEC win as the starter.
Alabama may very well have the best offense and defense in the country next season and we shouldn’t really be surprised given Nick Saban’s track record. No SEC title game revenge here.
Final Score: Alabama 38, Florida 28 (2-1, 0-1 SEC)
Josh Heupel has come over from UCF with the hopes of turning Tennessee back into a winner which was something Jeremy Pruitt couldn’t do. He was fired after going 3-7 in 2020 which was even more disappointing because the Volunteers began the year 2-0.
Hendon Hooker should be an upgrade at quarterback along with the talented sophomore Harrison Bailey but the offense was a nightmare last season (ranking No. 102 nationally) and I don’t think a quarterback upgrade is going to fix all the issues there. The defense was also mediocre and only five starters return.
This is a major rebuild year for Tennessee and Heupel.
Final Score: Tennessee 14, Florida 42 (3-1, 1-1)
